The plan is to rebuild the front suspension and try to clean up as much of the engine compartment as possible before the drivetrain goes back in. I'm going to try to paint as much of the suspension components in a Satin Black & attempt to repaint the engine compartment the original color.

Driver's side.
Note placement of the battery tray, starter solenoid & charging system due to the 6 cyl.

  • Keep these components in the stock location & modify the wiring to fit the V8.

    Firewall.

  • Still debating whether to switch to an electric wiper motor, I'll decide that sometime in the future.
  • Still need to remove the column shift linkage.
  • Brake lines will probably be replaced when I convert to the disc brake setup.
  • Research 6cyl-V8 throttle cable interchange.

    Passenger's side.

  • Most clean side of the engine bay.
  • Need to replace washer fluid bottle
    (Research "trick" replacements)

    Front.

  • Is the black supposed to be there?
  • Lower support dented.
  • Remove/Strip/Refinish upper radiator cover.
  • Remove/Strip/Refinish fender braces.
  • Remove/Rebuild grille
  • Should hood latch compontents be body color?
(Looks like it's been painted black over body color)
