The transmission crossmember was the hardest part of this modification. It required quite a bit of hacking, cutting, grinding and welding to get the TH400 to fit using the GM transmission mount. For me, fabrication is the fun part of this - any welding I get to do is fine with me!

I had to take the center out of stock crossmember, which made the x-member pretty flimsy. So I took some welding stock I had and welded it in to strengthen it and took pieces that I cut out to "box" the ends.

NOTE: 1/2" spacer under the transmission
I will be replacing it with a full metal spacer
